Familia: Supporting Families

Section 32 Assessors & Section 32 Reports Writers

Report Writing

Familia are a professional team of section 32 assessors and section 32 reports writer

Our team of experts have been writing reports (section 32 reports and section 47 reports) for families like yours for many years.

Unlike individual assessors who may have gender bias, Familia have a mixed team who both assess each family individually and ensure that all of our recommendations offer the very best outcomes for family members.

Family Therapy

In many circumstances, you may be asked to attend family therapy either before or after your court report.

As registered systemic family therapists the Familia team are perfectly placed to offer your family our expertise in the family therapy domain.

We also work with children, teenagers and individual parents to ensure that their voices are heard during the assessment phase of the section 32 reports or section 47 reports.

Parenting Coaching

Liz Wilson is one of the best parenting coaches in the country who will support you, guide you and develop your parenting skills to ensure that both you and your children grow together as a family.

One very important aspect of our work is parenting assessments.

We will make a recommendation to the Court about either parent’s capacity to be the very best parent they can be. You do not need a court order to initiate a parenting assessment with Familia.

Who We Are

David Kavanagh and Liz Wilson are Systemic Family Therapists. Between them they have over 70 years of experience supporting families. They are very professional and take their work very seriously. They are committed to ensuring that your experience of going to Court is as beneficial to your family as possible.

Every report written by the Familia team is peer reviewed. In other words David checks Liz’s work and she checks his. They do this to ensure that fairness and equality are two key features of every report that they write. This helps to prevent legal teams from dismissing reports in a hearing for being biased or one-sided.

When needed, the Familia team expands to include other consultants. In some cases that involves teachers or psychologists conducting Section 32 B reports.

Why not contact David today to discuss your case and learn how Familia can support your family.

Our Philosophy

We believe that every family member has a right to be heard. We give special consideration to your child’s voice. In many families experiencing separation or conflict, all too often the voice of the child goes unheard. Parents are sometimes too consumed with their own personal issues to properly hear and understand their childrens’ needs.

Every family is unique. In the assessment phase of our process, we explore with you what we think is in your family’s best interests. We then support you in designing a carefully structured plan to give your family the resources, tools and skills it needs to navigate the sometimes painful journey through the Court system.

1. Experience

David Kavanagh is an experienced section 32 assessor. Both David and Liz have been involved in writing court reports (section 32 reports and section 47 reports) for many years and pride themselves on providing families with fair, balanced and insightful reports.

2. Сonfidentiality

From the first time you make contact with Familia we take your privacy very seriously. Only in exceptional circumstances involving child welfare will we ever breach confidentiality. As Systemic Psychotherapists David and Liz are ethically bound by their rigorous code of ethics to maintain confidentiality.

3. Fast Results

In many cases some assessors take an inordinent amount of time to complete their report. This can cause great distress to a family. Familia guarantee that every report requested by the Court will be delivered in time for your Court date.

4. Free First Consultation

To begin the process of supporting your family, feel free to reach out to the Familia team through e-mail or by telephone. During the initial consultation David will explore with you the case history and make an assessment to see if Familia are the best people to help your family. In some situations you may be recommended to contact a different assessor but we will always try to work with your family if at all possible.

Our Expertise

Systemic psychotherapists are mental health professionals who specialize in addressing problems that arise from the complex interplay of social, cultural, and systemic factors in individuals, families, and larger systems. Unlike other forms of psychotherapy that focus on individual psychology, systemic psychotherapy is grounded in the understanding that individuals are inseparable from their broader social contexts and that problems often result from systemic dysfunction.

Systemic psychotherapists work with individuals, couples, and families to identify patterns of behavior and communication that contribute to problems. They use a variety of techniques to help clients understand and change these patterns, including cognitive-behavioral therapy, narrative therapy, and solution-focused therapy.

In addition to working with individuals and families, systemic psychotherapists also collaborate with larger systems, such as schools, hospitals, and community organizations, to identify and address systemic problems that affect the people they serve. They may work with teams to improve communication and collaboration, create programs to address systemic issues, and advocate for systemic change.

Systemic psychotherapy is a highly specialized field that requires extensive training and ongoing education. Systemic psychotherapists often hold advanced degrees in psychology, social work, or a related field and may pursue additional training and certification in systemic psychotherapy.
